On November 11, 2021 Don and I had the joy of welcoming into the world our very first grandbaby, a precious little girl named Annie! Since that time we have welcomed Cooper and Baby Gracelynn to the family! What an absolute delight these children are to us! My heart is overwhelmed with love for them. They are each unique and precious. This will be baby Gracelynn’s very first Christmas! She’s a happy little baby with lots of smiles and giggles. She’s just begun to roll over and her newest thing is reaching out for her Mama and Daddy. With all that she is learning to do, there is still so much that she can’t do yet on her own. She can’t feed herself, change her diaper, talk and tell us her deepest feelings. She is completely dependent on Danielle and Joe to take care of her every need! They adore Gracelynn with a pure love and a fierce protectiveness. She is their beloved daughter.
I’ve recently been filled with awe as I consider that this is how our God, the Creator of the universe came to us…as a helpless, little baby. Jesus was born as a vulnerable, defenseless infant. In Isaiah 53:2 it says that Jesus, “grew up…like a tender shoot”. Then in Philippians 2:6-7 (NLT) we read that, “Though He was God…He gave up His divine privileges; He took the humble position…and was born as a human being.”
This December, take some time to reflect on the immense love that God has for you and your spouse. He loves you both so much that He was willing to humble Himself and come to earth as a defenseless baby to ultimately rescue you. You both belong to Him and He loves you with a pure love and a fierce protectiveness. You are His beloved children.
